Il Bisonte was born in 1970 in a small artisanal laboratory in the heart of Florence, Italy.
The showroom and head offices are based in the same noble Corsini Palace overlooking the Arno river, where Popes, heads of government, intellectuals and artists stayed since the XVII Century and where the first creations of Il Bisonte were dreamt of, designed and produced over fifty years ago.
All the processes and raw materials used to produce Il Bisonte leather bags and accessories express the best of the inimitable Italian manufacturing tradition.
Il Bisonte bags and accessories are revolutionary in everything except in their absolute loyalty to the extraordinary Florentine tradition of manufacturing. This is the source of Il Bisonte’s love for high quality made-in-Italy leather, and passion for handmade workmanship, entrusted exclusively to the best craftsmen in the province of Florence.
In the hearth of Italy
The beating heart of Il Bisonte’s manufacturing universe is gently guarded by the Arno river and located just a few minutes from Florence.
All fabrics and leathers are tanned, coupled, cut, split, skived and hand stitched within a 30 KM radius of the main manufacturing plant, in the centre of the land that has spawned artists such as Giotto and Beato Angelico and the cradle of the best craftsmen.
Vineyards, olive groves, orchards, woods and wheat fields; Romanesque churches, medieval castles and Renaissance villas; evidence of prehistoric times and of the Etruscan and Roman civilizations; hills, waterways and mountains: in Valdisieve, Mugello and Valdarno, man’s industriousness and the generosity of nature have shaped a unique and characteristic territory that has extraordinarily fused beauty, competence and creativity over the centuries.
Il Bisonte is proud to produce all its creations in this receptacle of vastly valuable knowledge, and to help pass on these traditions from generation to generation.
